In collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute, TripSpace curates a mini dance festival (19 February, 15 April, 8 July), featuring performances by three of the most exciting emerging Italian contemporary dance makers: Andrea Costanzo Martini, Claudia Catarzi, Caterina Basso. Each performance will be followed by a post-show talk giving interpretative keys for each artist’s work and moderated by John Ashford.
The first performance, What happened in Torino, is a virtuosic yet emotive choreography created by Andrea Costanzo Martini. In a journey between states of mind and physical expression, the performer embodies a physical state in which every cell of his body seems to be observed and influenced by every other entity in the room (the ceiling, the walls, the air , the audience) questioning what it means to expose oneself as a performer?
Dancing to a free translation of Vanna Marchi , the 90s controversial Italian TvSale Icon, famous for her unconventional selling methods and exuberant character.
