The Embassy of Ireland in London will host a programme of events from October through to December 2021 marking the centenary of the negotiation and signing of the Anglo-Irish Treaty of 1921.
The Embassy will host a new play from playwright Colin Murphy and Fishamble Theatre Company. ‘The Treaty’ – in 70 minutes – tells the story of what happened inside the negotiations, as Arthur Griffith, Michael Collins and fellow Irish negotiators engaged with the formidable British negotiating team, headed by Prime Minister David Lloyd George, with Winston Churchill often at his side. A special performance will take place on the 6th December to mark the centenary of the day on which the Treaty was signed.
There will also be several related talks scheduled to coincide with the exhibitions. Further details of the Embassy’s centenary events, and how to avail of tickets, can be found on our website.
