Chilean author Carla Guelfenbein has been described as ‘’One of the most important authors of the first years of the XXI century in Chile’’ (El Mercurio). Her work has been translated into 14 languages and has been well received by both readers and critics.

On 2nd June, Carla Guelfenbein will come to the Cervantes Institute in London to talk about her work.

Her fifth novel ‘Contigo en la distancia’ won the prestigious Alfaguara prize in 2015, and was simultaneously launched in Spain and Latin America last year.

The novel is a complex narrative and intertwines the lives and narratives of multiple characters, exploring themes such as love, lies, family and identity. It is currently being translated into German, French, Rumanian, Swedish, and English.
