In a suburban high school, a group of students rehearse dialogues from Marivaux’s play A Game of Love and Chance (1730). Located at the intersection of theatre and reality, Kechiche (Blue is the Warmest Colour) generates an energetic and intelligent reflection on French society while offering various levels of interpretation of Marivaux’s text and dialogues between the teenagers themselves. L’Esquive was awarded four Césars, including Best Film and Best Director.
