GIVING SHAPE TO THE WORLD WITH LEÏLA SLIMANI

First Franco-Moroccan woman to win the prestigious Prix Goncourt for her novel Lullaby, Leïla Slimani was appointed personal representative of President Macron to the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie. She will discuss how literature and art shape our world with Dr. Joseph Ford (Institute of Modern Languages Research, UL) and Dr Adina Stroia (Newcastle University).

This event is organised as part of a series of seminars taking place in 2022 and supported by the UK Association for Modern and Contemporary France’s Visiting Scholars’ Seminar Series fund, the Cassal Endowment Fund and the Institute of Modern Languages Research at the University of London.

Copies of Leïla Slimani’s books will be available in French and in English thanks to our partner the bookshop La Librairie La Page

She will also take part in an event at the Maison Française d’Oxford (23 March).

As part of the Mois de la Francophonie organised by the French Institut.
