ELDA Trio comprising of Slovenian accordionist Janez Dovč, Brazilian percussionist Adriano Adewale, and Swedish vocalist Emilia Mårtensson – recent winner of Vocalist of the Year at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards 2016 – will be preforming their newest compositions at a concert celebrating the release of their debut album on Two Rivers Records.
In the attempt to weave together their three different folkloric cultures the ensemble has explored the breadth and depth of approaches to storytelling and music from their countries of origin. What emerges is a fascinating musical tapestry, with one foot in tradition and the other firmly in the future.
