Contemporary Finn

Contemporary Finn – backstage of the Finnish soul

You are warmly welcome to the world premiere of Contemporary Finn: a new concept that wants to expose the world to Finnish contemporary avantgarde; progressive and forward thinking. Some Contemporary Finns may be known & internationally recognized by their context or profession. Others are private thinkers, even in Finland. They all are equally special souls.

The idea behind Contemporary Finn is to gently handpick contemporary Finnish jewel minds, and strengthen their voice in the world. This is important, because world is full of elevator speeches and pitching – but rather empty of original thinking. Finns are traditionally introverted and shy in expressing themselves. Contemporary Finn helps by curating & supporting Contemporary Finns in becoming visible & heard: for the world to enjoy.

We will hear six souls. They will all talk about or express something that fascinates them. Finnish author Riikka Pulkkinen, in her novel True, described human beings as forests full of paths that randomly open to some, but remain unknown to others. Contemporary Finn seeks to curate an access to this ”random”. It is a concept created & owned by Open Flower (www.openflower.fi). This world premiere is kindly supported & given a safe space by AGMA & the Finnish Institute.
