Bellini composed in a markedly different style to Donizetti though they were main rivals. With the benefit of Lewis’s experience as a rising young conductor, he will talk us through the orchestration and vocal parts using the score of one of Bellini’s best works to see how his approach to composing opera was radically different from his contemporaries.
