Bartók Jazz Café

The Hungarian Cultural Centres around the world commemorated the anniversary of Béla Bartók’s death in various ways this year. For a special night, we welcome jazz pianist Tamás Balogh at the Hungarian Cultural Centre to play reflections on Bartók’s work while playing the documentary made from all of this year’s celebration. The broadcast will be available on our Facebook page, with the documentary also coming soon in December.

Tamás Balogh, a pianist and composer finished the Jazz Department of Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Hungary, and has already achieved several remarkable results, staged large-scale concerts and won prestigious music awards, both individually and with his band. He is focused on jazz, what it sounds like today and how he can address his generation with his improvisational music. He would like to prove that the various musical styles are not in competition with each other, but rather complement one another.
