With its 2018 edition, La Linea 18 – the London Latin Music Festival will reach its coming of age: 18 years dedicated to supporting, celebrating and spreading new Latin music in London.
This year’s stellar line-up features: Jorge Drexler, Ana Tijoux, La Pegatina, Eliades Ochoa, Gisela Joao, Orchestra Baobab, Mexrrissey, and local Afro-Cuban experimentalists Ariwo & Soundspecies as well as a brand new big band show Sonorama which reinvents the music of Latin composers in Hollywood including Esquivel and Lalo Schifrin.
A heady mix of debut commissions, one-off UK performances, and live premieres from global superstars and rising stars across the Latin music world. The festival works with a range of London venues and boasts a stand-out line-up that features everything from traditional Cuban music, Latin rumba, ska and punk from Spain, Chilean classics, genre-spanning sounds from Mexico, and future Iranian/Afro-Cuban inspired electronica.
