UTOPIA – Portuguese Film Festival in the UK

Utopia, the UK Portuguese Film Festival is back for its 8th edition. This year, the festival will focus on the relationship between Portuguese cinema and literature, with a major conference at King’s College London, on November 13 and 14. The conference will welcome important speakers as the writer Helder Macedo and the film directors João Botelho, Margarida Gil and Luis Filipe Monteiro, amongst a varied pool of major Portuguese and international specialists.

In partnership with Birkbeck’s Essay Film Festival, the festival will continue with the screening Correspondences on 18 November, followed by the screenings of Skin, by Fernando Vendrell, and Muddy River, by Edgar Pera (this last one after an introduction by film producer João Pinto Sousa) at Ciné Lumière, respectively on the 28th and 29th of November.
