WOMEN COMPOSERS TODAY

Following on last year’s 10th anniversary celebrations of Diaphonique, the Franco-British fund for contemporary music, and as part of the ongoing strands Women Shaping the World and The Earth Here And Now, the Institut français du Royaume Uni invites you to attend a live-streamed panel discussion on women composers in classical and contemporary music.

Diaphonique laureates, composers Tansy Davies (Faber music), Laura Bowler (Rayfield Allied), Jamie Man and Clémentine March (Lost Map Records) will talk about their careers and the inspiration behind their recent commissioned work with Susanna Eastburn (chief executive, Sound & Music). They will be joined by filmmaker Lisa Rovner, whose documentary Sisters with Transistors: Electronic Music’s Unsung Heroines tells the story of female pioneers of electronic music. The panel will be complemented by live musical interludes.

Livestream on our YouTube and Facebook channels. Stay tuned!
