This year’s ARTES Glendinning Lecture features Marta Cacho Casal, an art historian specialising in Early Modern art, and particularly the Spanish Golden Age. She holds a PhD from the Warburg Institute, has held fellowships in Florence, New York and Oxford, and was also the recipient of the first Alfonso Pérez Sánchez Prize for her book on Francisco Pacheco. She is currently working on a book about artists’ libraries in Italy and Spain (c. 1550 to 1650). Her talk will touch upon her new research into artists’ reading and collecting books in Spain.
This lecture has been made possible through a collaboration between ARTES (Iberian and Latin American Visual Culture Group) and the Instituto Cervantes London
