With a short introductory talk led by Alice Privett on the background of Donizetti’s comic work we will discuss how the hilarious “drunken duet” developed. Jenny Miller, of Barefoot Opera, will then lead a dynamic performance workshop, teaching our young singers ensemble and physical theatre techniques as they sing an excerpt from this well loved opera. With over 35 years as a classical singer, latterly directing and developing her own courses in vocal pedagogy, she pioneers a new approach to the performance of opera.
