Yunus Emre Institute in London is delighted to announce its Ottoman Turkish Courses starting on April 22nd and 25th, bringing Dr Cumhur Bekar live to your screens.
This ONLINE course will provide the students with the necessary skills to read and understand Ottoman Turkish written in the Arabo-Persian alphabet. Ottoman Turkish as a written language was the direct predecessor of modern Turkish spoken today in Turkey and in the large geography surrounding it that used to form a part of the Ottoman Empire. Intermediate & Advanced levels will be more reading intensive and students will gain knowledge on Ottoman History by reading significant texts of the era.
The class requires specific knowledge of the Turkish language to the level of at least B2.
Classes will take place through ZOOM, an online platform.
