On the longest day of the year, Danish artist Kirsten Bertelsen creates a lullaby inspired sound installation in Greenwich Park called “However Low the Sun”.
It features five Nordic lullabies chosen by the Nordic ambassadors in London. From Finland, Denmark, Island, Norway and Sweden, each ambassador has chosen his or her favourite lullaby from home. The songs are performed by church singers from each of the countries.
If you take a walk on the Greenwich Meridian on 21 December between the Royal Observatory and the Queens House between 4pm and 6pm, you will be hearing the sound of the Danish lullaby: “Den lille Ole med Paraplyen” (Little Ole with the Umbrella).
