Music In The Time Of Goya at the National Gallery

An exciting collective of leading young Iberian artists explore the music of Goya’s time and his influence on the European Romantic music imagination.

Expect a colourful programme of fiery fandangos, seguidillas, and boleros alongside well-known classical favourites by Beethoven, Ravel, Boccherini, and Granados with special guest flamenco percussionist Nina Corti.

AMS is proud to present ‘Music in the Time of Goya’, a chamber-music celebration of the great Spanish painter Francisco de Goya y Lucientes inspired by The National Gallery’s new exhibition, Goya: The Portraits. Join us in the opulent splendour of The National Gallery’s Barry Rooms as we explore the elegant musical aesthetic of Goya’s era and its intoxicating effect on the Romantic imagination of 19th-century composers such as Enrique Granados, and beyond to the 20th-century works of Manuel de FallaMario Castelnuovo-Tedesco and the film music of Roque Banos.
