In 2021, the world celebrates the 120th anniversary of the iconic American architect Louis Kahn.
This free online discussion explores how Kahn’s work continues to shape the understanding of timeless modernism today and invites to learn about Kahn’s little-known Nordic ties: early childhood in Estonia, his travels and how his early experiences in Estonia would shape his architectural sensibility. Speakers include Norwegian architect and former student of Kahn, Per Olaf Fjeld, Estonian art historian Heie Treier and British architecture historian Elain Harwood.
Moderated by Owen Hopkins ( Newcastle University).
The event is organised by the Estonian Embassy, in partnership with the Norwegian Embassy and Louis Kahn Estonia Foundation.
