A master of the Film Noir à la française, Jean-Pierre Melville is celebrated through this season presented on the occasion of his centennial. Reflecting the broad array of his talent, this selection of films includes Melville’s mythic and stylish Le Samouraï, Le Doulos shown on a restored print and his first feature Le Silence de la mer, which will be introduced by Laurent Grousset, president of the Jean-Pierre Melville Foundation, on Saturday 16 September.
