Coming all the way from southern Italy, the Chaluvier Duo (clarinet & piano) will be performing at 1901 Arts Club for a recital celebrating original clarinet and piano repertoire. From two sonatas that are the highlight of 1900s clarinet and piano literature to a glimpse into some works typical of the character of Italian opera. A selection of solo piano works separates the two parts of the recital.
Formed in 2007, the Chaluvier Duo has performed in a large number of concerts in southern Italy. Over the last few years Michele and Antonella have participated in many national and international competitions winning in 2014 the chamber music category in “Symphonia competition – Scorrano (Lecce)” and placing first in a series of other competitions including “Premio musica Italia – Barletta”, “Città delle ceramiche – Grottaglie”, and “Giovani promesse” Taranto). In 2015 they have realised their first album dedicated to original clarinet and piano sonatas written during the 20th century, which there are going to present in an international tour.
