A talk by Priscilla Mary Işın Bountiful Empire
Turkey’s most prestigious cultural centre, Yunus Emre Enstitüsü, presents a talk on the history of Ottoman cuisine. Join Priscilla Mary Işin with her talk Bountiful Empire, based on her book; ‘Bountiful Empire: A History of Ottoman Cuisine’. She examines the food and food culture of the Ottoman Empire as it changed over five centuries.

Magnificent Spice Bazaar, a collective Photography Exhibition
To accompany the talk we have the Magnificent Spice Bazaar exhibition which showcases the works of 19 acclaimed photographers. Included in this lineup is the honorary photographer, the masterful Ara Güler. The exhibition is a visualization of Istanbul’s famous Spice Bazaar, which dates back to the 17th century, through the lens of the photographers.
This exhibition features the works of Ara Güler, Izzet Keribar, Ersin Alok, Tuna Angel, Mıgırdiç Arzivyan, Lina Basmaci, Nurhayat Baysal, Işıl Göral Dağdevirenel, Agop Ezgilioğlu, Daçya Lisan Güloğlu, Şila Horoz, Meltem İnanç, Henri Kandiyoti, Lidya Kohen, Niso Maçoro, Tania Sisa, Bige Baykoca Süslü, Tufan Teksoy, Harika Topaloğlu Yücel.

This multicultural event is organized by Yunus Emre Enstitüsü in collaboration with the Turkish Embassy in London, Turkish Airlines and Ara Güler Museum.
