The Battle of White Mountain (1620) and the Political and Religious Transformation of Bohemia

The Battle of White Mountain (1620) and the Political and Religious Transformation of Bohemia

The Battle of White Mountain was a decisive moment in the history of Central Europe.

This lecture by Dr Mark Whelan, Teaching Fellow at Royal Holloway, University of London, will concentrate on some of its long-reaching consequences on the Czech-speaking lands. It will explore the drastic changes in the religious and ethnic makeup of  Bohemia that followed after the battle, as well as some of the new cultural and artistic impulses introduced into the Bohemian crown lands.

The ticket includes a glass of wine.
