A DOLL’S HOUSE

after Henrik Ibsen concept and direction by Fix&Foxy (DK)

Directed in the UK by Pelle Nordhøj Kann

Performed by Cassie Raine, Ben Samuels and Jamie Zubairi

Ibsen understood acutely how people interact and wanted his theatre to be like real life. That is why Danish theatre company Fix&Foxy have taken Ibsen’s most performed play and staged it in real homes with real participants. This unique production was first produced by the Royal Danish Theatre and the National Theatre of Oslo and following critical acclaim as part of CPH STAGE in Copenhagen and at the Oslo International Acting Festival, Fix&Foxy’s A DOLL’S HOUSE receives its UK premiere as part of Chelsea Theatre and Theatre of Europe in Rep. It is performed in English in a translation made by Peter Woltemade.

Fix&Foxy is lead by Tue Biering and Jeppe Kristensen, award-winning Danish artists who innovate with pop culture, blockbusters, media and kitsch to make playful and poetic theatre that deals with modern societal taboos. Recent projects include: a reimagining of the cult series Twin Peaks performed in eight cars around the remote Odsherred peninsula of Denmark; Pretty Woman A/S, a staged version of the Hollywood movie, starring real life prostitutes; a live cinematographic recreation of Triumph of the Will.
